Description: Historic battle plan of Copenhagen during the Second Northern War between Denmark and Sweden.
The engraving shows the siege of Copenhagen with bombing of the city by the Swedish army.
The Dutch fleet let by Lieutenant-Admiral Jacob van Wassenaer Obdam joined the conflict on the Danish side and a reinforcing fleet managed to smash its way through the Swedish naval forces in Øresund.
At about five in the morning the Swedes gave up and retreated. They had taken severe losses.
