Fine 18e Century antique print of the Palace of the Emperor of China Peking, ( Forbidden City ) Dutch on audition at the Chinese emperor.

Origin: atlas "Le Petit Atlas Maritime Recueil De Cartes et Plans Des Quatre Parties Du Monde", Paris 1754.

Het Gezandtschap der Neêrlandtsche Oost-Indische Compagnie, aan den grooten Tartarischen Cham, den tegenwoordigen Keizer van China… Johan Nieuhof. 1655.

Cartographer of this map: Jacques Nicolas Bellin (1703 – 21 March 1772)
Bellin was born in Paris. He was hydrographer of France's hydrographic office, member of the Académie de Marine and of the Royal Society of London. Over a 50 year career, he produced a large number of maps of particular interest to the Ministère de la Marine.
