Description: Old print of China plowman’s farmers with ox, origin print of Jacob van Schley edition of Prévost's Histoire générale des voyages 1750. The print is copperplate engraved with hand coloring, and engraved by the Dutch master engraver van der Schley. Jacobus studied under Bernard Picart (1673-1733) whose style he subsequently copied. Most of the plates in the Hague edition of Prévost's "Histoire générale des voyages" are signed by van der Schley.[
