Title: Dessin, Plan et coupe d'une Pirogue de l'ile d'Amsterdam
 

Description: A copperplate engraved drawn of double canoe of the Island Amsterdam, connected with beams and bonded with coconut ropes. The plan shows the canoe in three different views with the appropriate scale.


This is an original engraving from the time as listed, not a later 1800 edition.
Origin one of the first editions of : Voyage das L’Hemisphere Austral, et autour du Monde,
fait sur les Vaisseaux de Roi, L, Aventure & la Resolution…
