The discovery of the Pacific Islands.

Description: Caroline Islands (or The Carolines) in the northwestern Pacific Ocean, shows in dotted lines the voyage in 1712 of Captain Bernard de Egui with his ship Santo Domigo, he reaches Ulithi and Palau.

Original 1746 antique copperplate engraved on watermarked lined handmade paper by map mapmaker, Nicolas Bellin.

Mapmaker Cartographer: Jacques Nicolas Bellin (1703 – 21 March 1772)
Bellin was born in Paris. He was hydrographer of France's hydrographic office, member of the Académie de Marine and of the Royal Society of London.
